ABOUT
Hello! And thank you so much for visiting Orange Bonobo and clicking on the about page to learn more about me and the site!

Orange Bonobo Creative Writing is a dream come true for me. Most of us are raised to think that making a living in the arts is just a dream and so I, like most of us, went the traditional route and got an education so I could work the 9 - 5. I have two Bachelor Degrees - one in Science with a major in Biology and Honours in Psychology and an Education degree (Elementary). What I have always wanted to be is a writer and on August 23, 2021 I made that dream come true when I published my first children's picture book, Alison the Astronaut! And now there is no stopping me. Hence the creation of Orange Bonobo Creative Writing!

Orange Bonobo got its name from two of my favourite things - the colour orange and my favourite animal - the bonobo chimpanzee. My favourite kind of writing is children's fiction (picture books, beginner novels and young adult novels) and blog/website posts. I am also excited to try my hand at screenwriting. Stay tuned for that!
My absolute favourite part of writing is creating my characters. I love everything about this process and I want to share my passion of the process with you through my blog. Through my blog I will also share glimpses into my life and what I have learned about the writing industry (self publishing, freelance writing, blogging, etc.)

I live with my partner, three children and three dogs in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada. We all love the arts and sports!
